Sorry this post is published so late, I intended to post it early this afternoon but I needed some pictures from my sister; which, are on her computer. And I'm what 1300 miles away so I had to wait for her to get out of class but then I have class and now I'm out but I can't seem to get a hold of my sister. So, let's call this post part one and part two, I'll have my sister post pictures from her phone. I know she's making a video of everything so maybe she will do it together.
Anyway, I wanted to let y'all in on my most recent little trip to Los Angeles. Well, every year most of the girls in my family always get together for my mom's and aunts birthday because they land on the same day in October. They're not twins but they were born on October 14th just four years apart. We got there Thursday morning and it was just our luck that my sister's school had something going on where she had Thursday-Tuesday off. Which, worked out perfectly for me since I was leaving Wednesday.
When we got there, we didn't really know what we were going to do that day. We were debating whether we should go to Hearst Castle, Santa Barbara, or Solvang. I wanted to go to Santa Barbara, only because I've never been and my family went without me one year and when they talk about their memories there I'm alway jealous because I can't join in on the fun. Every have those? Anyway, we ended up going to Solvang, and I'm so glad we did. The town is so cute.. like it honestly looks like a fake town staged up for a movie or something. Have you ever seen Hart of Dixie? Well, this place kind of reminds me of something like that. You all will see the pick below and maybe see what I'm talking about. I know I've mentioned this before but I'm not the best photographer, I'm trying!
The vineyard we went to was called Grainey Vineyard. The land was beautiful and the wine tasting? Well, it was alright. I'm not the biggest WINO in the world. I like cheap fruity wine if that. Or a Resling. I still very much enjoyed myself, we all did and we got some pretty great shots in.
The next few days we learned that The Eagles would be playing in Vegas that Saturday. We didn't really have plans set in stone and my mom, aunt and uncle I guess grew up with there music and really wanted to go see them in concert. So, we did! And we dragged along our 78 year old grandmother, she loved it! It was such an ah-mazing experience. I'm not going to lie and say I've always loved their music for this long blah blah. I didn't. But I did know like two songs and had heard a few others. But hey! I'm 25, give me a break! I still had fun, just seeing these legends still doing what the love, 40 years plus later.. I would love that. What an inspiration!
Sunday, we saw the games at the sickest sports bar at Lagassi Stadium. Okay, if you're ever in Vegas on a Sunday. I highly recommend this place for any sporting event. Great food, drinks and sports. TWO THUMBS UP!!
The next few days we spent in LA, we attended a LA Fashion Week charity event for Stand Up to Cancer. We got to see a few shows, including designer Nicole Miller. It was so much fun. I loved the fashion and the inspiration from all designers and people just attending the show. I didn't really know what to wear. My aunt said to wear a dress but for some reason I wanted to wear my Joie Mariner pants and Top Shop crop top and topped it off with my new Stuart Weizman strappy heels!!!! I love these heels they are my few fave and must have! It's a shame that my dog had to get to them. I have a new pair waiting in my cart until I can afford them again.I wish I had more pictures of the actual fashion. I had them all on my SnapChat and I guess I forgot to save them to my gallery. I know, I know.. I'm kicking myself for it. I guess we'll talk about it later on the part two post.
Well, that's it for now. I hope you enjoyed the pictures from my short trip to LA. It was definitely a much needed mini-vacay! Tons of laughs and memories. I can't wait to go back. I'm thinking March. The pictures below are from my camera but mostly from my phone. Hope you like!
