well, back to reality!
new york was really what i needed out of a short trip. it was relaxing, we did a lot of site seeing, a lot of walking but it was tolerable this time around. also, we ate a lot of burgers.. well, i ate a lot of burgers! i think i had shake shack like four times while i was over there, twice in one day! if you ever go to new york, go to shake shack and try the burgers before you judge me! lol
so, if you follow me on snapchat, i want to apologize for the overbearing snaps i took of my time there. i think i had about 200+ seconds like everyday.. eek! i know there was one night that we went to a bar and i got a little tipsy and had way too much fun with their song selection and i think i snapped it all. sorry about that!
anyway, the whole trip was amazing. we got really lucky with lines and stuff. i guess since it was so close to the school year, there wasn't as many tourist around! i think the only place we actually waited over an hour was at grimaldi's pizzeria in brooklyn but it was completely worth the wait! sooo good! but even at the bars, the bartenders would give us an extra shot here, free chips and guacamole there, so nice! i guess it was because we were tourists!
our first day we just explored central park, like the entire park! who knew there was so much, it kind of felt like we were hiking and i was in birks but we managed! we would spend a day in each part of the city, i know manhattan is only so many miles long but theres just so much to see! but we played it pretty smart, we didn't get too tired of walking. i mean i remember the blisters from when i went two years ago with my family. this time around was just very chill and we just went with the flow. it was perfect! we even went to a flea market on sunday. yes!! i was kind of sad sunday morning because we woke up late and i didn't think we would be able to go to the flea market but right outside our hotel was a pop-up green market and on our way to shake shack there was a vintage flea market across the street. how lucky was that! i was in love and not only that but we googled it and it's supposed to be the best vintage flea market in new york! score!! i loved it, there were so many antique jewelry and vintage clothing it was awesome, i really enjoyed myself there. i got some jewelry and a really cute tea cup and plate from france, hand-painted in 1903. ever since i started watching downton abbey (which i have not kept up with by the way), i had been looking for a cute little tea set. i'm glad i waited because i found the perfect one! now i just need stationary.. for what? i don't know i just want it!! anyway, i didn't do any shopping, which sucked but my car payment is due this week and i couldn't be irresponsible! orly had mentioned there being a lot of thrift stores and an urban outfitters up the road from our hotel and i resisted! yay me!
orly enjoyed himself which was great for it being his first experience there. we got to celebrate his graduation with an amazing trip and great memories! now it's time to really celebrate with our friends this weekend! woo! well, below are just a few pictures. my sister is going to make a video soon of everything we did over there so i don't want to share too much, you know!
well, until next time!
i really wanted to visit the moma, but it was in midtown i believe and we were going to midtown the following day but we didn't end up going. we did way too much that day! maybe next time!
